Minion of Balloons

Supplies: balloons, an air pump, scissors, white correction fluid and a permanent black marker.
First we are going to make the bottom part of the sculpture.
Inflate a blue balloon making about 20-25 cm bubble.

Buy balloons on Amazon (paid link):
Buy an air pump on Amazon (paid link):

Twist a chain of the first two about 3 cm bubbles.

Lock all ends of the first two bubbles in one lock twist.

Twist the next about 5 cm bubble.

Twist a chain of the next two about 3-4 cm bubbles.

Lock all ends of the last two bubbles in one lock twist.

The last two bubbles represent feet.

Now we are making the top part of the sculpture.
Inflate yellow balloon making about 20-25 cm bubble.

Pump the air to the opposite (round) end of the balloon away from the nozzle of the balloon.

Make bubbles starting from the round end of the balloon.
Twist the first about 8 - 15 cm bubble.
It is the head of the Minion.

The next five bubbles we twist to make the arms with hands.
Twist the next about 2 cm bubble.
It is an arm bubble.
Twist the next about 4 cm bubble.
It is the hand bubble.
Twist the next about 2 cm bubble.
It is an additional bubble - we are going to pop it later.
Twist the next about 4 cm bubble.
It is the hand bubble.
Twist the next about 2 cm bubble.
It is the arm bubble.

Lock both ends of the chain of the last five bubbles in one lock twist.

Lock both ends of the 4 cm hand bubble in one lock twist.

Lock both ends of the other 4 cm hand bubble bubble in one lock twist.

Now we have to split each 4 cm hand bubble on two small bubbles.
Work one hand bubble at a time.

Use scissors to pop the additional bubble located between hands.

We have made the arms with hands.

Cut off the rest of the balloon and tie off the end.
We have made the top of the sculpture.

Attach the yellow top part to the blue bottom part.

The sculpture is already recognizable.

I have made two sculptures.
They differ only by the size of the first yellow bubble.

We can cut off the rest of the blue balloon.

Or we can deflate the rest of the blue balloon and use it to make a bracelet.

Cut a hole at the flat end of the blue balloon to deflate it.

Tie the end of the blue balloon between blue feet bubbles.

Use white correction fluid to paint eyes and mouth.

Some minions have one eye, some have two eyes.

Use a permanent black marker to paint over the white.

Congratulations! We have made Minions out of balloons.

We can use the sculptures as it is.

Also, we can put two small coins between feet bubbles of the Minion to balance the sculpture on any flat surface.

Have fun and happy twisting :)
